Otterburn 'Conquer the Forest' Challenge

Posted on: 20th April 2015

Sunday 19th April, saw a happy, smiling group of runners set off down a 1/4 mile down hill tarmac start. This was probably the last time they smiled before having a drink at the finish.

This was the toughest terrain we have found yet for a forest trail event, babies head/trussocks, flase stones, what ever you call them, they are practically impossibe to run on. Add vast areas of uncut heather, knee high grass and peat bog in to that and you may get a grip on how tough this was.

Oh did we mention the 1000+ feet of climb.

There were some recovery sections in between on the forest gravel tracks.

Amazingly, there were some fantastic times posted in both the 10k and 10 mile races.

Our next CTF event will be in Dalby Forest, July 19th.  See you then.  #Alteryourego
