No Ego Challenge - Preston

Posted on: 16th September 2013

\ Technically this is cheating - but we love the team work!

Well, we had a fantastic day on Saturday at Lancashire's first No Ego Challenge at the beautiful Brockholes Nature Reserve in Preston.

Over 500 people took part in the race with hundreds more looking on.  The sun shone and spirits were high, there was a great atmosphere and everyone finished with a smile on their face!  We have had some excellent feedback and can't wait for the next one.

Thanks to everyone who volunteerd, helped us out or worked on the day - it would not be possible without you all helping us.  Now there are only 39 days left to the Penrith event - are you going to join us?

some of your comments...

"Bruises popping up everywhere, cuts and still got mud under fingernails  totally worth it though - first 'race' I've ever done over 5k! Cheers!!"

"Great event, I ran as an individual cos nobody was brave enough to do it with me, met some great people along the way though and was great spirit among everybody taking part, thanks to Brian and everybody else that made this happen and to all the volunteers who gave up their time, thanks to Brockholes for hosting the event, hope it becomes an annual thing."

"Ache all over but it was well worth it one of my fav days this year x x x everyone was so lovely"

"Team BCH loved every second of it! There were some of our team that accomplished so much, such as overcoming a fear of heights with the tyre climb and even the ones that just motivated themselves to start exercising full stop! We also raised lots of money for Trinity Hospice which makes all the scratches, bruises, aches and pains worth it. Great event and looking forward to the opportunity to do another."
